It had been five years since the EPC Wildcatz had beaten the Forreston Cardinals, and six years since they made it into the IHSA playoffs. And while head coach Jared McNutt always held his head high and ignored the noise ... there was plenty of grumbling going on behind closed doors.
There's still a major murmur permeating the program, but after Friday night's 36-16 dominating win over the Cardinals in Pearl City, it's the kind of rumbling people don't want to make public – not because it is offensive – but because it might jynx the amazing season the Wildcatz are putting together.
