Accident With Injuries

On 05/13/24 at approximately 4:14 p.m., Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to U.S. Rt 20 approximately ½ mile west of W. Headquarters Rd., for a two-vehicle accident with injuries.

Upon arrival it was discovered a vehicle being operated by Eva D. Simpson, 45 of Savanna, was traveling east on U.S. Rt 20 when she came upon on a slower moving vehicle. Simpson applied the brakes and slowed for the vehicle ahead of her. A vehicle driven by Michael L. Herrick, 58 of Elizabeth, was following Simpson and failed to slow down as Simpson slowed down.
