Who Are These People?

There were few expectations when sitting down to cover the Stephenson County Board Thursday night. The meeting was the big fight over ARPS funds – the extra millions of dollars the County had been given that needed to be distributed. And while the vast majority of the money was already "claimed," there was still a million dollars sitting in the Highway Fund that everyone had their eyes on.

And, with no other major business to attend to, the "fun" was expected to start right out of the gate. The proponents for the Nursing Home would undoubtedly ask for money, after all there was a $200,000 HVAC...
