100 And Counting

The Stephenson County Association for Home and Community Education will be celebrating their 100th Anniversary with an open house on Saturday, September 23 from 1-3 pm at the Farm Bureau, 210 West Spring Street, Freeport, in the Lincoln-Douglas Room (use west entrance).

The Stephenson County Home Bureau was organized on July 27, 1923. The organization was the result of three years of planning by a small group of women who had been inspired three years earlier when in December of 1919, at a Farm Bureau meeting, a Home Adviser in Kankakee County, spoke to the women on Home Bureau work.
