In Dad's Honor

Back in the early 1960s, Charlie Osterday was one of the founding members who began the Stockton Firework tradition.

"Wow, back then it was 'light the fuse and run away'," joked current firework committee member Dan Oppold.

But Otte's daughter and son – Vici and Chuck – knew how much the fireworks meant to their father, and then entire Stockton community today. So, upon his passing, Chuck Osterday and his sister Vici Otte – (Yes, that Vici Otte, former Stephenson County Clerk) – made a donation as a memorial to their parents, Charlie and Corky Osterday, to the Stockton fireworks.
