Fire Leaves Many Homeless

Late Sunday night, as the storms were rolling through the area, a fire broke out in what used to be the Elizabeth Nursing Home, but had been converted to Assisted Living Apartments.

Nobody was hurt, and all 20 residents of the apartments made it out safely, but they not only lost their home, but also all of their possessions.

“Right now the Fire Marshall is doing the investigation on how it started, so I really can’t say with any authority what caused it,” said Elizabeth Fire Chief Andy Nolan.
