Hebert Resentenced
On February 17, 2023, John Hebert of Hanover, Illinois, was resentenced on a charge of Aggravated Battery – Peace Officer, which is a Class 2 felony. The charge stemmed from an incident on January 23, 2021, when a deputy sheriff, while attempting to remove Hebert from an establishment after complaints, was spit on by Hebert.
Hebert was originally sentenced to 18 months probation and 180 days jail. After it was proven that Hebert had violated terms of his probation, he was resentenced by Judge Kevin Ward to 5 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. The term of incarc...
