There's an old saying in sports, "It's not who you play, it's when you play them."
On paper, it should have been a major contest between the Lena-Winslow Panthers and Warren Warriors Monday night in Lena, but ... nobody counted on illness.
Not only was Warren without their starting point guard and leading scorer Reed McNutt to illness, but head coach Mike Flanagan was also sick and had to miss the game too. Those holes were obvious for all to see in the opening quarter as the Warriors were shut out on the scoreboard.
