Not too much took place Thursday at the Preliminary Hearing of the Stephanie Broshous trial as everyone was on hand, but she and her attorney waived their right to a Preliminary Hearing.
So, what does that mean?
The State must prove Probable Cause at a Preliminary Hearing in order to move on to a trial. If they fail to do so, the case is dismissed right there. By waiving their right to a Preliminary Hearing, Broshous is not admitting guilt in any way, but is acknowledging that the State would meet the requirements to prove Probable Cause.
