Whenever we lose someone close to us, especially at a younger age, it's comforting to look for a lesson we can learn - to understand why that person was put into our lives, only to be taken before her time should have been done. I don't think I am alone in that struggle with my friend Angie Winter. Even though she knew how it would end often telling me that cancer wouldn't kill her, but what the treatments did to all her other organs would, I was too optimistic to believe that it really was going to happen. I'd laugh it off and assume she'd just keep fighting like she did for so long.
