In the opening round of the Polo 1A Volleyball Regional, the Eastland Cougars and Pearl City Wolves both came in with young teams, but it was the experience of the Cougars that carried them to the 25-14, 25-22 sweep to advance into the semi-finals against Sterling Newman.
Game one was over early.
Maybe it was the Regional atmosphere, maybe the Wolves had Cougars in the headlights, whatever the reason – Pearl City came out flat, and never got into a rhythm.
Of the 25 points the Cougars needed to win, 15 of them were given away by the Pearl City Wolves who made two service errors and 13 unforced...
