River Ridge students were presented a bench as a result of three years of sorting, cleaning, and prepping bottle caps.
In 2019, Francis Fennell of the Warren's Lions' Club said his organization had bottle caps and that they knew of a company, Green Tree Plastics, in Evansville, IN that would melt the plastics down into a bench. So, River Ridge Wildcats took on the challenge.
Then COVID hit and the project went on hold. Once COVID eased up, the sorting, cleaning and prepping returned.
On Sept. 19, middle school students, past and present, saw the results of their labor. Over 150 students helped...
