Coming into their conference battle in Milledgeville Wednesday night, the Missiles had to be considered the favorite. They stood at 7-4, while Eastland was only 5-5, and Milledgeville was also undefeated in the NUIC South while Eastland stood at 1-2.
But both teams apparently never looked at the standings.
The Cougars didn't just win, they dominated 25-17, 25-8.
"This is the team I know we can be," said head coach Kelsey Thurman. "We're so young, and even our upperclassmen don't have a lot of varsity experience. But when we communicate and play our game, this is what they can be."
