After starting out stuffed with drama in the initial filing period, the Primary Election on June 28 in Stephenson County lost a little bit of its anticipation this past week.
That's because some candidates had a change of heart and decided against seeking public office while another was removed from the ballot after their petition was protested on the basis of errors and the protest was found to be valid. Local election officials held hearings on March 28 to hear more than 10 protests filed against those seeking a county office and some of those hearings were continued until March 31.
