Illinois Freedom Project

The Stockton Township Public Library will host the Illinois Freedom Project exhibition, which examines the pursuit of civil rights by and for African Americans in Illinois, from April 4 until May 2.

This free traveling exhibit is the third element of the Illinois Freedom Project, a multimedia initiative begun in 2011 by the Lincoln Home National Historic Site, along with community partners, to investigate places that best represent the inspiring stories of the journey from slavery to freedom in Illinois.
