Ripping The Lid Off

Basketball players are well aware of the phrase, "Taking the lid off the basket." It often refers to a team that continues to miss shots, even good ones. For the Lena-Winslow Panthers, they had been in such a bad shooting rut over the last week that the "lid" seemed to be strapped down with iron wrappings and bolted in place.
