If you come driving through Winslow, you will notice a large sign proclaiming this town to be the home of Doc Carver.

Who was Doc Carver?

Doc Carver was born in Winslow in 1851. Carver would become a famous frontiersman, dentist, showman, actor, acrobat, equestrian and a world champion marksman. Much of Carver's early life is blurry because he was a proponent of the American Tall Tale. In American folklore, his life and legend are right there with Davy Crockett, Daniel Boone, and Buffalo Bill Cody.
