The showdown for the South took place in Lanark Thursday night as the Milledgeville Missiles – undefeated in conference play – paid a visit on the Eastland Cougars – also undefeated in conference play. And while both teams had their share of strong hitters and excellent defenders, in the end it was the serving prowess of the Cougars that carried them to the 25-20, 25-10 victory.
A preview of what was coming took place right out of the gate as Quinc Haverland opened the match with a pair of ace serves for Eastland – the second one putting the Cougars up 5-0 and forcing a Milledgeville time out....
