We don't write papers, we build scrapbooks
I was recently reminded of a joke I used to use during my stand-up comedy days in New York City. I used to do a newscast routine, and the top story was usually:
'The Surgeon General discovered today that mother's milk can cause cancer, the only problem now is finding a place to put the label.'
I'm not sure exactly why it popped back into my head after all these years ... well, yes, I guess I do know why I remembered it.
You see, I have come to find that a great deal of people tend to read my column on a regular basis. And even though that's flattering and a good selling point for our newspaper...
