Extra Inning Excitement

The two youngest softball teams squared off in the first round at Lena's Dodds Park Wednesday evening as the SM/RR Hornets came to town to challenge the Panthers, but this one took longer than seven innings to decide.

With one out in the bottom of the eighth inning, the Panthers had the bases loaded against Hornet ace Mikayla Bass, and freshman Kyah White was fouling off pitches to preserve the 2-2 count.

"I thought when my team called time out and came out and talked to me, that settled me down," said Bass. "I knew I had my team behind me and that they had my back."

With the pressure relieved...
