At halftime of their conference battle with the Amboy Clippers in Freeport Friday night, the EPC Wildcatz – and their fans – were not happy campers. After two quarters of play, the Clippers had come across looking like the better program, and held a 13-8 lead.
But it wasn't the score that was so upsetting, it was that EPC was losing both sides of the line of scrimmage. Amboy was pushing the ball down the field behind the basic power 'I' and lead runs of fullback Joe Quest and tailback Sean Fitzpatrick.
