The rumors were flying recently when the IHSA suddenly changed their policy regarding the Phase 4 opening requirements, and when the Governor of Michigan openly suggested it – the idea gained some serious weight – switching the Fall and Spring sports seasons so that High Schools play softball, baseball and track along with golf in the Fall, and hold football and volleyball until the Spring.
On the surface, it makes sense. By its' own admission, the IHSA has declared baseball and softball, "safer" because the six feet of separation is much easier to maintain, there is rarely any direct contact...
