Coming in to their non-conference battle, nobody who followed area football honestly believed that West Carroll would have an easy time with the powerful Dakota Indians. True, they might pull off the upset, but … this was Dakota – the team that had thwarted West Carroll upset bids before when the Thunder had a better team.

But several eyebrows rose in surprise after learning that the Thunder had knocked off Dakota with a convincing 24-12 victory that wasn’t as close as the score.
