The effort certainly was there and the game never got out of hand, but the five turnovers by the Stockton Blackhawks eventually doomed their chances Friday night as they fell short 22-8 against the Forreston Cardinals. The IHSA held their Boys Golf Regionals last Wednesday at courses throughout the state. While most regionals had twelve teams compete, only the top three teams advance on to the Sectional competition. In addition, the top ten individuals who are not members of one of those three advancing teams, also earns the right to advance. So, being able to get the ball into "system" where a good set can be made to allow that spike to take place is important. Cross Country is still picking up steam in the region among the small schools, but the problem is that you need at least five runners to finish a course and have their scores added together in order to get a team score. But not every team has five runners. The Stockton/Lena-Winslow co-op for example has two boys, both from Le-Win, and two girls, both from Stockton.
