It had been three years since the Stockton gym could present a theatrical performance, and the fans were obviously hungry for one as the gym was packed to capacity for their production of Footloose last weekend. People wanted to be treated, and the Stockton kids came through with flying colors. Let's begin with the problems, because there were a lot of them – but that would be expected when trying to rekindle what hadn't been done for three years. The technicals were ... well ... in a word ...

When I’m an old man, I’m going to leave snacks in little bags on the floor all over the house in case I fall down. According to the Kraft Mac & Cheese box, I’m a family of four. I look really good with a pizza box. I’m going to petition the government to declare cold pizza a legitimate breakfast. Bread puns happen when you yeast expect them. I don’t talk to ice cream, but could be convinced with ice cream. Ask not what you can do for your country … ask what’s for lunch. Sometimes, it’s better to be alone. Especially when you have chocolate. DIE...
I better take my car into the shop. The funny noise it used to be making has turned into very clear whining and whimpering. Thank you for the repairs, hopefully it won’t take me as long to pay the bill as it took you to wait on the parts you needed. That’s funny, my “check wallet” light comes on every time a mechanic gets near my car. “Yep, your car is broke,” the mechanic said. “I could fix it, but then you’d be broke.” “You say your car is making a grinding sound? Hmm. Maybe it needs a new paint job.” My insurance company wants me to get thre...

Ok, let me start off by saying I hate horror movies. Give me a monster I can see and is difficult to kill, no problem. But the scary slasher movies or something that comes out and tries to make you jump out of your skin ... no thank you. So, while I will be the first one to put on record that Orangeville's production over the weekend of the Haunting of Hill House, had some really strong performances in it ... as a former theater teacher/director, I'm not sure I would ever pick a psychological th...
After struggling to keep the stage alive via video and behind masks, Lena-Winslow was finally able to bring back a legitimate show with their production of Beauty And The Beast last weekend. The production allowed a lot of veterans the chance to shine, but also introduced several new faces as the casting was incredibly good. Let's start with the leads – Michael Decker pulled off a major acting job as the scary beast, the vocal range was a bit too low for him, but he was still solid. And Ava F...
I’m going to start Spring Cleaning my house today. And by “cleaning” I mean drinking wine and spraying everything with Febreze. Spring cleaning at my house consists of simply opening the windows. I know, I know, Spring Cleaning never killed anyone … but why take a chance? I’m not really into spring cleaning. Come to think of it, I’m not into summer, fall or winter cleaning either. I don’t call it Spring Cleaning. I call it, “Returning my house to beauty base zero.” If you get into the mood to do Spring cleaning, go see your doctor. The odds...

If our cats could talk ... I “meowed” until my human woke up. I didn’t need anything, I just felt like being annoying. Yes, I know I got hair all over the couch. It’s called “Fur”niture isn’t it? Wow, this is a full-bodied Bordeaux with plum, mulberry, and dark cherry notes. It should make a cool stain on the carpet. And this photo is when I jumped up on the dresser and barfed on his wallet. You’ll crash on the couch, you’ll nap on the stairs. You’ll conk out on cabinets, carpets, and chairs. You’ll snooze near your human, all over the p...
It’s called “fast food” because you’re supposed to eat it really, really, fast. Otherwise, you might actually taste it. If the price of food gets any higher, I’m going to start setting out animal traps in my backyard. Our Heart-Smart Pizza is made with sausage, pepperoni, bacon, rich sauce and four kinds of cheese – all piled high on two defibrillator paddles. Where do pickles go to fight … in an Onion ring. The girl is so stupid, she thinks Taco Bell is a Mexican Phone Company. Did you hear about the hamburger that couldn’t stop making jok...

I really don’t like political jokes … I’ve seen too many of them get elected. Biden’s tax plan is really simple. If a wheel falls off the canoe, then your dog house will be filled with pancakes. My girlfriend told me she would leave me if I didn’t support Trump … I said, “OK, Biden” Donald Trump dodged the draft six times, paid zero in taxes for at least 18 years, was given free media 24/7 for over a year, and STILL thinks the system is rigged against him. Sometimes I look at Joe Biden and think … the wheels is spinning, but the hamster is de...

After making her initial visit to Lena on January 1st, the Queen of Hearts made another visit to the Iron Horse Tap in Lena on February 6th. Darryl Canon's name was drawn and he chose card number 8 where the Queen was found hiding. With a total pot of $7,905, by being present, Darryl won 70% of the pot or $5,534 with Federal and state taxes still to be withdrawn. My hobbies include: Pinning pictures of home décor I can’t afford, recipes I won’t cook, and crafts I won’t make. Also, I really enjoy loading up my online shopping cart and not buying any of it. I’m painting a big blue rectangle in my backyard. Now, people who see my house on Google Earth think I have a pool. The problem with political jokes is that they get elected. I’ve decided to add “extensive experience with stupid people,” to my resume. That has got to be a marketable skill. My kids are making it very difficult to be the parent I alway...

I’ve been saving for my retirement. I only have $900 so far, but I do have 250,000 little packets of sugar, ketchup and crackers. I plan to retire on Friday and I haven’t saved a dime … here’s the chance for my investment planer to become a legend. In financial news today, stock holders sought safety in treasuries, treasury holders opted for high-yield bonds, and bond holders fled to growth stocks. Money can’t buy happiness. You also need high-yield stocks, prime real estate, and a solid credit rating. My investment club has been meeting f...
