Twenty-two members of the River Ridge FFA Chapter traveled to Lena to compete in the Section One FFA Agronomy Career Development Event on November 14th along with thirteen other schools from across our section. The Lena-Winslow FFA Ag Sales team had great successes this year. The team placed second at the Section 1 competition, and proceeded to place sixth at the District 1 event, which took place at Blackhawk East Campus in Galva, Illinois. The Galena ARC now offers affordable art classes for Tri-State area homeschool learners. The classes will take place in the Galena ARC Art Studio, 11084 W US HWY 20, Galena, on the second Monday of every month during the school year. The Illinois Retired Teachers Foundation recently donated funds for two Yeti Blue microphones and two boom arms to Jay Dickerson's classroom at River Ridge High School. Students from the River Ridge Horticulture class recently took a field trip to Rocky Waters Vineyard and Winery to explore the science of viticulture.
