The River Ridge FFA Poultry team traveled to the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana to compete in this year's Poultry Judging Career Development Event. The five-member team were tested in seven different areas of knowledge of the poultry industry. Students involved in Servant Leadership from 13 area High Schools all congregated inside the Freeport High school cafeteria for one special purpose recently – trying to help feed the World's hungry. Twelve members of the River Ridge FFA Chapter traveled to Forreston to compete in the Section One Horticulture Career Development Event (CDE) on March 22nd. This contest tests students on their knowledge of both horticulture and floriculture.
