Cross Country is still picking up steam in the region among the small schools, but the problem is that you need at least five runners to finish a course and have their scores added together in order to get a team score. But not every team has five runners. The Stockton/Lena-Winslow co-op for example has two boys, both from Le-Win, and two girls, both from Stockton. Students from the River Ridge Horticulture class recently took a field trip to Rocky Waters Vineyard and Winery to explore the science of viticulture. Students had the opportunity to harvest grapes by hand and learn about the grape vines, which can have roots up to 90 feet deep.
