Dan, I just read the article that you wrote about the Bro-Dogs and I could not help but reach out to you. How incredibly disappointing that you would use your platform to insult parents, athletes, and an entire school. You do not even have your facts straight. An Orangeville student came up with the name “Bro-dogs”. Not an Aquin parent. I encourage you to really think about whether your article splits a community or brings a community together. Your article did absolutely no good. Even a child knows that if you have nothing nice to say it...
Many people commented about how the pandemic tended to keep us in our homes. Whether it was due to a quarantine, or the restrictions placed on social distancing and masks, a lot of us simply stopped going "out". But as the restrictions have been lifted, and things are beginning to return to "normal" a question emerged that made us do a little research ... specifically, why do people who live in the small towns go to Freeport? Now, to begin with, this was not a scientific study by any means. I...

You come from dust and to dust you will return. This is why I don't dust. It could be someone I know. Summertime means kids, lemonade and cookies, popsicles, ice cream, and Vacation Bible School! Great little story - We thought we were going to need to send out an all points bulletin on the need for more cookies for VBS. But then, on Monday afternoon my phone rang. It was from a lady who lives in Lexington, Illinois and is the bookkeeper for Fellowship of Christian Farmers International (FCFI)...
I am not a camper. I have never been a camper. Growing up, my family’s idea of camping included maid service and an indoor pool. But a few years ago, my wife went with her uncle camping in his RV and fell in love with it. That led to her buying her own R-Pod camper, and decking it out with wallpaper, and strings of lights … which are pretty cool. She has gone camping with it to the Palisades and is Hs come in very handy when she goes up to see one of our daughters to be the grandma bab...

With seven schools in both the North and West, Fulton will join the NUIC South – making t...

Remember kids, don't play with fireworks ... let the adults who have been drinking all day set them off. Police arrested two kids yesterday, one was drinking battery acid, the other was eating fireworks. They charged one, and let the other one off. "I don't know why my firework party was a complete disaster," Johnny said. "They all worked just fine yesterday." Fireworks! Because who really needs all ten fingers? Firecrackers are too dangerous dear. We'll celebrate the Fourth by making our own firecrackers. We'll put spicy jalapeno and cayenne...

While Alice Cooper’s School’s Out may not have been blaring on the steps of the State Capitol in the wee hours of the morning of June 1, Democrat legislators still delighted in their wins while turning in sloppy homework and asking for extra credit before leaving town for Summer Vacation. Due to an insistence by House Democrat legislators to reinsert legislative pay raises removed from state spending plans by Senate Democrats and panned by Republicans in both chambers, last minute changes wer...
