On March 15, 2024 the Jo Daviess County Sheriff's Office received several reports of a new fraudulent scam where at this time the suspect(s) are calling businesses or employees of businesses and asking for an employee by name. Once they make contact with that employee on the phone they inform the subject that they are a member of the Jo Daviess County Sheriff's Office and that they have unpaid warrants and requested them to wire them money to take care of the warrant.
